A cover band with recognizable songs, but just that little bit different. At The Music-Lab (formerly Jazzlab) semi-professionals and experienced amateurs play well-known and lesser known songs in varying combinations in the genres you may expect at Muziekpodium DJS (jazz, blues, soul, funk and more). However, the songs are played with a twist. Pop becomes jazz, rock becomes soul and arrangements are changed. But sometimes songs just stay what they are. Fun for the musicians, but even more fun for the audience.
Het thema van deze editie is “For the Occasion”. Deelnemers kiezen uit het opgebouwde Music-Lab songbook van de afgelopen 14 jaar de nummers die een tweede kans verdienen. Arrangementen die te mooi zijn om te verstoffen in een Drop-Box, revanche voor die keer dat het net niet lekker liep of gewoon omdat het zo mooi was. Wat de reden ook is er is voldoende materiaal voor een bijzonder avond muziek.
