The Blue Diamonds was a very successful Dutch duo: Riem and Ruud de Wolff broke through in 1960 with the worldwide hit "Ramona," followed by successful tours. Their stormy beginnings were interrupted by military service. When they stood down, The Beatles had broken through and times had changed, but the men remained undiminished popular in the Far East, where they still performed regularly. In 2001, after Ruud's death, Riem and several fellow artists made a new album under the name "The New Diamonds' the album 'Out of the blue'.
