Create a show about the hidden stories of the Biesbosch Island!
Stories from World War II
This spring we are working on a special edition of Theater Na de Dam's youth performance. The location is the Biesbosch Museum Island. Young people from the region will explore the stories of World War II, when this area housed many hiding places.
After the liberation of North Brabant, the Biesbosch became a border area with the not yet liberated South Holland. Dangerous crossings took place (crossings) to bring people, messages or medicine to the other side. Guides and couriers risked their lives (not always selflessly) and these crossings saved people's lives.

Based on these stories, the performance will be made. Director Clara Peeters and choreographer Lisa Dammiaans work from the individuality and strengths of the players. Young people living in the Dordrecht and Noord-Brabant region (and around Biesbosch) who love to play or dance and want to work on this crazy performance can apply.
Rehearsals
Re hearsals start on March 2 and will take place on weekends and during the May 2024 vacation. It is 11 lessons at the location around the performance. It costs a total of € 35,00. You can only participate if you attend all rehearsals. Therefore read the Planning rehearsals and performances 'Between Time (pdf) and the Production Guide. To participate in this project, you do not need to have much theater experience. It is important that you show commitment and be present at all rehearsals. Performance times will be announced as soon as possible. We also hope that the performance can take place one more time in fall 2024 and in spring 2025. We will keep you posted!
The Biesbosch Museum Island is only accessible from the Dordrecht region by water bus or via the A15 Werkendam. Therefore, we are investigating how to arrange transportation. More information will follow.
