Johan den Hoedt was born on September 5, 1970 in Ridderkerk. After taking organ lessons from both Henk Rijnsaardt and Frans van Tilburg, he studied organ at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Arie J. Keijzer. Currently Johan takes lessons with Cor Ardesch in Dordrecht.
In Utrecht, he attended the SNK's multi-year conducting course, where Hans Noyens (choral conducting) and Marjolein Berkvens (voice training) were his teachers.
Currently Johan is2nd organist at Grote Kerk in Dordrecht, is organist of De Wijnstok in Dordrecht (Dubbeldam), and regularly plays afternoon services at Maranathakerk in Werkendam.
Johan gives organ and piano lessons. He also gives organ concerts and regularly performs as an accompanist to choirs and soloists. In addition, he is the conductor of several choirs.
