Stage beast Elfie Tromp revives kleinkunstcoryfee Adèle Bloemendaal
Stage beast Elfie Tromp brings cabaret legend Adèle Bloemendaal to life in her new musical theater show "Of the Mad!". With Bloemendaal's committed songs and biting conferences, the punk cabaret maker, writer and city poet shows how alive her work and music still are. In doing so, Tromp ventilates her own fierce and humorous reflections on society, on small suffering and great injustice. And she does so, just like Adèle, with enticing laughter, low voice and dangerous seductiveness.
The show, in classic cabaret form with pianist Jan Groenteman at her side, is suitable for both Bloemendaal fans and new theater audiences. It introduces them to a headstrong feminist from the very beginning, who was the very first in the Netherlands to present a one-woman show. Tromp shares Bloemendaal's headstrong message: you never have to live the way you're supposed to, and don't do anything that goes against you, especially as a woman.
