The Biesbosch played an important role in World War II. During the cruise on the open whisper boat the Sterling, the guide tells about the "crossers" in the Biesbosch. The line crossers carried out crossings during the last months of the war to transport information, medicine and people. There were also people in hiding and resistance fighters in this area with its tangle of creeks during World War II. With these line-crossings a perilous connection was made between the still occupied part of the Netherlands and the already partly liberated Brabant.
Sailing through the creeks, follow the route of the crossers.
