On May 5, the Art Church will open its doors for Forms of Freedom: a special Liberation Day dinner where art, music and meeting come together. As part of the national tradition of eating together on Liberation Day, we invite local residents and art lovers to a free dinner at the Kunstkerk to reflect on freedom, and the many forms freedom can take.
Surrounded by the exhibition Dust to Dust by artist Job Smeets, we will take our seats at long tables in the church hall. The evening will be musically accompanied by live piano music on the grand piano, and opened and closed with poetic words from city poet Swendeline Ersilia. At the table you will not only be served a meal, but also small assignments on the table coverings: you are invited to make your personal "form of freedom" tangible and share it with others.
In between, programmers Freek and Maartje will share their reflections on the exhibition and the theme of the evening in a short speech.
