In this workshop you will learn how to design a good protest button. Thanks to the button machine, you will walk out the door with at least one unique button on your jacket or bag.
Protest buttons became popular in the 1970s: against nuclear weapons and in favor of abortion, for example. You see them again today, on denim jackets and backpacks. Buttons are small and yet it is often immediately clear what it says: that is not so easy... What does a good protest button have to satisfy?
The workshop will give you tips on color contrast, fonts, shapes and symbols. In short: protesting can be learned!
There are two sessions from 1:00 - 1:45 pm and 1:45 - 2:30 pm.
