Inspiration & tips

Event in zícht!

The spring sun has arrived and there is a lot to do in Dordrecht again in April! Art, culture, events, film and theater, take your pick. Because April offers something for everyone.
We would like to highlight a few events here.

Events are coming up again, bring on the fun!

Looking for that one vintage item!

Through October, every first Sunday of the month there is a cozy art and antiques market on Nieuwkerksplein. At the Art and Antiques Marketyou can find that perfect little table you've been looking for for so long, or that cute little print and maybe a nice vintage dress. Also look over the shoulders of the artists at work here: painters, glassworkers, ceramicists and even a dreamcatcher designer. And, of course, the classic antique dealers are not missing either. This mix of art, culture and a nice bite to eat and drink, make this the most enjoyable day out on Sunday. And from 2 p.m. it gets even cozier, because then there is also live music. At the same time, most art, antique and curio shops are also open during Kunstondje Dordt.

Bees, honey, and beekeeping in Beaverwijcks Square

For those who want to know everything about bees, their honey or beekeeping: on Saturday, April 15, there will be the 83rd Bee and Honey Market on Beverwijcksplein in downtown Dordrecht. Anyone interested is welcome to come and visit, buy something or just learn more. In addition to honey and beekeeping items, you can watch the craft of basket weaving. Sustainably produced food will also be for sale. Several nature and environmental organizations are present such as IVN to provide information about their activities. The central themes are beekeeping and sustainability.

Long live the King!

Kings Day kicks off on Wednesday evening, April 26, with a spectacular Kings Concert on Statenplein. The festivities for King's Day, on the following Thursday, start early on the steps of City Hall with the traditional aubade. Then quickly on to the Orange Market, which has almost 150 stalls. Young Dordrians can indulge themselves at the rug market. In the Dordrecht Museum at Art & Dining, the King's Brunch will take place. Afterwards, do not miss the Orange Band Show on the Statenplein. We conclude
the royal birthday with a spectacular fireworks show at the three-river point.

Rather celebrate King's Day in your own neighborhood? Then you can! Ten Dordrecht neighborhoods are organizing Koningsdag activities. So there's a lot to choose from this year!"
For more information about the program in the center and neighborhoods, visit www.koningsdagindordrecht.nl.
