There is plenty to do in town this period. Good, because the Christmas vacations are the ideal time to get into the Christmas spirit in the Dordrecht city center. At the studio of Katinka van Haren, where the shop window is a true gem. Or go on a winter whisper boat ride with Biesboschcentrum Dordrecht! If you haven't had enough, visit a performance by Winter Circus Royale.
For the third year already, visual artist Katinka van Haren provides a very special window display during the winter months. She invites everyone to come and admire her new atmospheric room "The heavenly dish" during the evening hours. A heaven of paper art is hidden behind mysterious vistas. The mostly sky-blue colors are inspired by the Delft blue from museum Huis van Gijn. But the bright red table in particular refers to loving togetherness during the dark days. The organically shaped table features gracefully curled cutlery and glassware reminiscent of earlier ornaments. Katinka is joyful in life and this is reflected in her work. "I find it beautiful to convey a positive image in these dark times," she says.
The Biesbosch is beautiful in all seasons! You will see this all the more during a Winter Biesbosch Whisper Boat Tour, an initiative of the Biesbosch Center Dordrecht. Experience the tranquility on the water during this winter tour with the open whisper boat 'the Sterling'. Cruises are still available on Saturdays and Sundays through February. And during the Christmas and spring vacations almost every day. This makes the upcoming months even more fun. And you become wiser too, because the skipper will tell you everything about the area during the trip. While enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with beaver cake, you can enjoy the winter landscape. During the Winter Biesbosch Whisper tour, blankets are on board to keep you warm.
