With summer approaching, we have a sunny and warm outlook. To De Elzen, for example, for a sporty skate ride. Or settle down on Rebel Rebel's brand new terrace with a view of the Nieuwe Haven. There is plenty of choice in the city centre.
All the more reason to go outside.
With your hair in the wind along the ancient Dutch polders. Only the sound of your skates can be heard. Space, polders, dykes and challenges; that is skating in the countryside of Dordrecht, with beautiful skating routes in the Elzen. Two signposted skating routes have been set out on the Eiland van Dordrecht, indicated by special skate signs. The signs are attached to lampposts or under traffic signs and are suitable for both beginners and advanced skaters. You can choose between 10 (the blue route) or 20 kilometres (the red route), or combine the routes for a nice long route of 30 kilometres. Just to be sure, put the routes on your phone, then you will definitely succeed. If you park at De Viersprong, you will see the signs.
The grand opening of Rebel Rebel took place on King's Day. In four months' time, the proud owners Danielle Vol-van der Holst and Timothy van der Holst transformed the old Pablo's Cantina into a spacious and attractive café-restaurant. With pool table, billiards and pinball machine, including a lovely terrace at the Nieuwe Haven. At Rebel Rebel, the two lovers of delicious vegan food and music come together. The Rebel menu alone is mouth-watering. Think of an English breakfast, hair salon, carrot cake, soft ice cream, Flammkuchen, all versions of 'Brewed by Women', a drinks menu, shakes and much more. Music lovers get their money's worth during the DJ evenings. "There is clearly a need for this," says Danielle enthusiastically. "It is already bizarrely busy, which is great fun. And it will only get better."
