Besides the Dordt December Days, there is of course more fun things to do in town!
Running Santa through the city
On Friday, December 13, lots of people in Santa Claus outfits will again make a pleasant run through the historic center of Dordrecht during the annual Santa Run. This year it promises to be another cozy edition. The start is on the Stadhuisplein at 18:30 with merry Christmas music and a warm-up. The starting gun will sound at 19:00 after which hundreds of Santa Clauses will run the course of almost 3 kilometers.
Participation is suitable for everyone and costs €7.50 per person. This includes a Santa suit and musical entertainment. By participating you support this year's charity: Stardo and Polar Bears; making rowing and ice hockey possible for athletes with disabilities!
Enjoyment during Dordt December Days
It will be enjoyable during the Dordt December Days, from December 13 to 31 in the historic center! Not only by the atmospheric (shopping) streets with beautiful lighting, but also by all kinds of winter activities during the Dordtse Decemberdagen. The inner city is the place to be this festive month. In addition to the traditional Sing-a-long on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14 at 8 p.m., there is even more on the December Dordt agenda. Near the area between the Grote Kerk and the Visbrug, there will be an intimate December Market on December 14 and 15. It is an intimate, cozy market with Christmas houses and some food trucks with all kinds of goodies. The garden of the Grote Kerk will also be cozy. On the Winter Square from December 26 to 30 there will be wooden chalets in which Dordrecht (catering) entrepreneurs show what they have to offer, daily from 14.00-22.00 hours. And of course you can again enjoy the Dwaalspoor, from December 13 to 30 (every day from 17.00-22.00). It is really worth coming several times, no evening is the same during the Dordt December Days!
True Dordrecht circus: winter circus Royal
The Dordrecht Winter Circus Royal is back with a spectacular program during the Christmas vacations! From December 20, 2024 through January 5, 2025, the circus will once again descend on the Laan van Europa in Dordrecht, with an all-new show filled with breathtaking acrobatics, magic, humor and spectacular stunts. Like the motorglobe and flying engines of 'The Victorr Rabayo Troupe' and the spectacular stunts on the gigantic wheel of 'Crazy Wilson'. Be enchanted by contortionist Svetlana Belova, who was one of the star performers of Cirque du Soleil for many years.
