Musical party in the Wantijpark!
The Wantijpark is all about music June 7 and 8! There are big names in the park again, because the band of the moment is coming to Dordrecht. DI-RECT forms the program together with the iconic formation De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, the young folk singer Mart Hoogkamer and Nederpop founders Van Dik Hout. The festivals are an annual tradition in the Dordrecht park. The weekend of events for and by Dordrechters and people from the region. That's what makes it so much fun. It is a local festival and feels like a party in your own backyard! On Saturday during Wantijpop there is something for every age. Last year was a record edition with a whopping 22,000 visitors. Also, the house concept Bud x Secret tunes returns on the extra stage. Nine days of Bach in town
It goes without saying that you will hear a lot of Bach during the Bach Festival, but now also in a different guise! Nine days of Bach, nine days of amazement: all sorts of free and paid concerts will take place at various indoor and outdoor locations throughout Dordrecht. The city will be set ablaze! This year's theme is 'circus'. During the opening, jugglers will show off their skills with something very special: a contemporary version of St. John's Passion. Other musical disciplines are not feared - metal goes hand in hand with Bach and therefore the event attracts diverse audiences. From Bach lover to pop fanatic and everything in between. The concerts are sometimes traditional, but often surprising. For example, you can relax on a mat or towel and enjoy a recumbent concert! Relaxed enjoyment with a festival experience: that is what the Bach Festival stands for for nine days.
Living room festival in your backyard
Amateur art festival Gluren bij de Buren will descend on Dordrecht for the fourth time on June 30. A living room festival in various backyards. Hospitable neighbors welcome neighbors with a local act in their own garden. Singer-songwriters, poets, theater-makers and other performing artists play the stars from the sky! At each participating location, an act will perform three times between 1 and 6 p.m. "What I like about this event is that you can put together your own program in your own neighborhood, creating your own festival itinerary," says Leanne van Gurp. "You enter neighbors with whom sometimes you've never spoken before and get to know other neighborhood friends. Super fun! Also, the acts are often very surprising and inspiring. You really go on an adventure in the neighborhood. I know from my own experience that it is always a successful event. There was a band of friends of mine playing in my own garden and the whole garden was full of known and unknown people who came over to socialize!"
