Under the motto "Dordrecht entrepreneurs put out the flowers," Saturday, April 19, will be a great day. This year the theme is Safari in the city center. With entertainment, music and lots of fun in and around the stores. Thanks to organizers Promotie Ondernemers Binnenstad Dordrecht (POBD), there is plenty to do and see in the city. Shopkeepers will make it a party for all customers and visitors. A day full of entertainment, music and fun in the stores!
The entertainment concentrates between noon and 4 p.m. and is spread throughout the downtown area. Visitors will be surprised by four-meter-high giraffes around Statenplaats and Voorstraat midden, a mischievous hippo on Voorstraat west, happy zebras on Vriesestraat and colorful butterflies. Hilarious rangers take the public on safari in the historic downtown area. Children can get painted as their favorite animal or have a unique balloon safari friend made.
There are many great promotions at stores that day. You can find them further down on this page. Also the inner man is thought. On the Vriesestraat you can eat delicious African dishes at restaurant Klein Afrika. Be sure to try the delicious African sandwiches and Mandazi buns!
On Vleeshouwersstraat, starting at 11 a.m., you can do a fun scavenger hunt and meet the Easter Bunny. Can you find all the wild animals in the stores and have a good idea to make the Vleeshouwersstraat even more fun? Then you have a chance to win a big chocolate Easter bunny from Olala Chocola!
So on to this special downtown street!
Voorstraat Noord is organizing a tour of various addresses on this illustrious Dordrecht street. The guide Marianne Gravendeel has selected a number of beautiful addresses and an interesting story ready to tell the participants. With her background as an art teacher, tour guide of Kunstrondje Dordt, organizer of Photocase and 'Ik maak Dordrecht', host of the art program 'Art & Dordt' and painter herself, she has the necessary knowledge and skills to make this an inspiring walk.
Start: 2 p.m. Gather at Sjiek de Friemel, well-known antique dealer Sylvia Landa, Voorstraat 161.
From there the walk will go through the northern part of the Dordrecht Inner City, where shopkeepers, entrepreneurs and gallery owners will be visited, no doubt great stories will be told. The tour (duration 2 hours) will end at café de Tijd, a nice place for a snack and drink.
But you can also participate as a visitor! Animal rpints are the hit of this fashion season. Come downtown that day in your panther ( or other animal) print and you'll get discounts or extras at Kind Zo Blij, Mees Home & Concept Store, Vino di Marco and other fun stores. You'll also have a chance to win fun prizes. And if you show up at Handsome Bike in your animal print, you'll get a whopping 10% off a new bike!
