Feasting your eyes during the half marathon
Athletics fans beware: the 46th edition of the Riwal AWP Half Marathon is coming up on Saturday, March 9. It is the 2nd race in the "StardGRL Running Circuit." Which consists of 8 road races in Vijfheerenlanden, Alblasserwaard, Hoekschewaard and Drechtsteden. This annual official road race is circled on the calendar of many athletics fans. The 21.1 km half marathon is run by true competitive runners, the 5 and 10 km by recreational runners, and there are several distances for youth (free, at the FORTIUS athletics track). The beauty of this event is the course. The start is at FORTIUS. The route then runs via the Noordendijk, Wantijdijk, through the Hollandse Biesbosch, Baanhoekweg, along the Wantij on Staartzijde, N3 Bridge over Wantij, Wantijdijk, Middelweg, bicycle path N3, Noordendijk and finish at the Athletics Track. Through nature, so as a participant you really see some of this beautiful part of Dordrecht.
Be enchanted in the Biesbosch
Step into an enchanting world and get carried away by the Biesbosch Light Trail! Discover the magic of budding spring where everything comes to life. Follow the light past colorful trees, magical swings and a starry sky, while night animals look on. Afterwards, warm yourself by the fire and enjoy a drink and snack in the catering square. A unique experience for young and old alike! The walk is about 1 km and starts opposite the Waterbus stop. From the Biesboschcentrum the approach to the starting point is about 600m. Please note, the walk goes right through nature, so make sure you have suitable shoes.

Scavenging to your heart's content in nature
At City Farm Weizigt, there are many fun events scheduled. Every first Wednesday of the month it is Weizigt Wednesday. On those Wednesday afternoons from 14.00 to 15.30 there is a fun activity for children aged 5 to 10 at Stadsboerderij Weizigt. Registration is not necessary. Drop by and find a spot at Weizigt Wednesday. Saturday, March 23, there are two fun activities for children aged 4 to 12 at Weizigt. The activities are playfully guided by guides from IVN Dordrecht. 'Experience is more important than knowledge' is the motto. We start at 10.30 am at the Stadsboerderij and it ends at 12.30 pm. Participation is free, but you must sign up at scharrelkidsdordrecht@gmail.com.
- Children ages 4 through 6 can participate in "Seeing, Smelling and Feeling Spring Flowers and Plants.
- Children ages 7 through 12 can participate in "Egg Egg.
