Mr J.C. van Rees, a meritorious painter, opened a paint shop at Beverwijcksplein in Dordrecht in June 1916. Paints were produced in the Kromhout workshop and then sold in the shop.
After more than 100 years, the paint shop is still located in the middle of Dordrecht, at Beverwijcksplein. In a time when these kinds of specialised businesses are moving to industrial estates outside the city, this is a unique location and within walking or cycling distance for many Dordrecht citizens.
