Upon entering seafood restaurant De Stroper you will immediately taste the friendly atmosphere of the open kitchen. The open kitchen where the chef and his brigade treat you to honest and pure tastes. De Stroper is located in the centre, on one of the beautiful harbors (Voorstraathaven) that Dordrecht has. There is a beautiful view over the water, where in summer boats are moored and tour boat the Dordtevaar starts. De Stroper has been in existence since 1987, and owes its name to its founder who regularly poached eels in the Biesbosch.
Today, De Stroper goes for sustainable catch and is a supporter of "the ocean clean-up". Together with their suppliers, they are constantly looking for the best products and matching wines. Feel free to drop in at lunchtime for a lunch of small dishes, or let us surprise you with one of our wonderful menus during dinner.
The kitchen, under the direction of Mark Bakker, can be described as classic French cuisine as a base, given a modern twist, with great care given to the quality of seasonal products, many of which are organic. The restaurant has different opening hours, always check the website of The Poacher for all information.
