Just in the longest shopping street of the Netherlands, three new cool enterprises appeared in recent weeks. From east to west, the Voorstraat is the very best. But of course that also applies to the rest of the city center.

Bear & Pom: feline fun gift store
Cat Bear is eight years old, Pommetje is three. Brand new entrepreneur and cat lover Kirsten Seesink-Pannebakker named her cozy store at the beautiful location on the corner of the Voorstraat near the Town Hall, after her two cats. Cats, but also dogs, play an important role in the gift and interior design store. The original items (mugs, tea towels, cards, pillows, bowls and much more) have the cutest and most surprising prints. After thirty years of working in healthcare (always with love, by the way), it was time to turn her hobby into her work, Kirsten says of her career switch. "It feels like now or never. I already had a webshop. I still have it, an update is coming, but a real store was always a dream." That dream began in France when Kirsten saw cat-printed tea bag holders from the Kiub brand. She was sold. Kiub, but also many other Dutch and English brands can be found in Beer & Pom. Great stuff for everyone's budget.
2nd chocolate paradise onthe Voorstraat
Do you suffer from chocolate choice stress? If so, rather ignore Gerrald Kuiper's second Olala store at 318 Voorstraat. For everyone else this store is a new chocolate paradise, open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Banana, coconut, amber, apricot, apple-cinnamon, freshly roasted nuts and many more special homemade chocolate bars are in this cozy and delicious smelling store. "A second store is a logical extension," the young entrepreneur explains enthusiastically. "In recent years it has become twice as busy. I could look for a space twice as large. But it is precisely the small, personal and cozy that characterizes Olala. At both stores we have a nice assortment of chocolates and chocolate products. What is unique for the new store: the wide range of special chocolate bars. Eventually I want to offer 50 to 60 different flavors, including limoncello and chili peppers. But there's so much more, we're still experimenting!"
Home made food at Bio Bodega
Voorstraat West recently gained a fine coffee café and vegetarian take away. Mike Dinkelaar and Claudia Nagaro opened Bio Bodega, right next to Zusjes and De Klik. The passion for good and healthy food is clearly reflected in the sandwiches, cakes and meals (different every week) of the enthusiastic and experienced cooking enthusiasts. Tasteful, eco-conscious and good vibes only. Claudia already ran a successful Bio Bodega in Rotterdam, but stopped because of her move to Dordrecht. Mike, with his macrobiotic background and his practice in acupuncture knows better than anyone how important good nutrition is. His homemade kombucha is of course also on the menu of the cozy deli including a small terrace at the front of Claudia's house. "Everything is home made," Claudia explains. "We don't use products from jars, everything is fresh and 99% vegan." Bio Bodega is open on Fridays and Saturdays, but ordering by phone on other days is also possible.
