The days are getting shorter and colder. A good reason to visit the pleasantly lit downtown Dordrecht just now. The entrepreneurs pull out all the stops to give visitors a warm welcome.
Of course, the same goes for these new special initiatives that are definitely worth a visit.
Cocktail lovers take note: at the newly opened Cocktailbar Blauwpoort, with terrace and great view on the water, there are over 30 cocktails and mocktails on the menu. There are changing bartender specials, responding to themes and the seasons. Ramon Berk owns the brand-new cocktail bar together with Timber van Buijtene. As examples of special cocktails he mentions the World Cup cocktail and the various winter cocktails. Inside, by the way, it is always summer with the accompanying relaxed atmosphere. And that is exactly what the two childhood friends had in mind. "A cozy bar for everyone. With both cocktails and bites: small dishes like nachos, sandwiches and drink boards." The bar will be open 7 days a week starting at 4 p.m. In summer, it is very likely to be cocktail time earlier in the day.

From pizza parlor to his own pizzeria. With the acquisition of Strada del Vino in the attractive historic Wijnstraat, Michel van der Heiden's boyhood dream has come true. On Nov. 25, he reopened the Italian restaurant that was previously part of the Willaerts Group. The concept has been left the same by the new owner. Why change it if it stands as a house? What the concept is, the hospitable entrepreneur is happy to explain. "High quality food with fresh ingredients, a fair price, a super team, relaxed atmosphere and that in a top location. Actually very simple, but effective. It goes above and beyond expectations. The big Italian stone oven is running at full capacity. We are getting very positive feedback and the reservations are pouring in." For now, Strada del Vino is open Wednesday through Sunday. Anyone wanting to organize a company outing or children's party can also come to Michel's place. Enjoy making your own fresh pizzas. Just so, Michel's passion for pizza was born long ago.
