Brenda Borgman always thought she wanted to do "something in hospitality," and when she wanted something different in her work as a consultant in the construction industry, it was time to start her own business. She started Brenda Geschenken, a gift store that includes wines and treats for the drinks board. Brenda is happy with the new step. "My motto 'giving is more fun' is really reflected in my store, part of whose proceeds go to charities at home and abroad. I have found a nice combination of making people happy with gifts and catering. The products in the store have just a different twist than standard gifts. I have everything in my store for Christmas: from food to gifts."

As a child, Eugenie van der Kolk was always "busy with stones" and later her passion for gemstones became a hobby that got out of hand, from which she made her work. First with a webshop, now also with a physical store on the Voorstraat, in the heart of the city center. At Stones & Gifts you will find countless gemstones and gifts with meaning, such as notebooks, singing bowls and leather bags with ecological wax. "I sell everything I like myself!" says Eugenie, no stranger to the spiritual world. "I also give readings and coaching in development. Stones work like a magnet for many people, I notice. The store is not very big, but I already know that the store is moving January 8 to the building next door, to number 403."

What do you do as a graduate stylist who has always worked in home furnishing stores but would like to express her own style? Right, you start your own business! And that is exactly what Marloeke Ruis did recently: she opened the doors of her home furnishing store Loek's Nice. She had already had a webshop since May, but when she saw the building she is in now, she instantly fell in love and her dream of having her own store took off. At Loek's Nice you will find mainly interior accessories and also some small furniture. You can also buy baby and children's items that are not only fun, but also look good in your interior. The nice thing is that everything you see is for sale in the store! From cushions to vases and from candlesticks to figurines. In other words: everything to make your house beautiful and homely. Marloeke: "I get a lot of curious people in the store and only hear positive sounds. People come for gifts, or for style advice. Because I give that too. And you can get coffee and tea with fresh homemade treats."
