DECOMPOSITION is a program that combines innovation and tradition. Inspired by Bach's famous cello suite No. 5 in c minor, several composers have written and arranged works that illuminate early music in a new and fresh way.
Laurence Gaudreau is a French-Canadian cellist currently living in the Netherlands, where she received her Master's degree from the Utrecht Conservatory of Music. With a range of musical interests ranging from contemporary music and chamber music to opera, as well as electronic and folk music, she has performed at festivals such as Gaudeamus, International Cello Festival Zutphen and Cello Biennale Amsterdam. She is cellist of the Flare Quartet and enjoys working in multidisciplinary settings. In all her work she is committed to innovative approaches that bridge classical music and different musical styles.
All lunch concerts of the Bachestival are given by young up-and-coming talent. This concert is a collaboration with CelloWercken Zutphen.
