The 150 Challenge is an art project that sheds light on the Netherlands’ history of slavery through narrative drawings. With this series, she brings attention to overlooked stories from our history—stories that have remained hidden for generations but deserve to be brought to light and discussed.
The series consists of three themes: Black History, The Rebellion, and Modern Slavery.
Andra Daans is a Dutch-Surinamese artist whose work bridges the gap between heritage, memory, and human resilience. Born in Rotterdam and shaped by her mixed cultural background, she creates paintings that give a voice to people who are all too often overlooked.
