Pianist Philip Karmanov began his piano lessons with Sander Knuiman in Utrecht and Aleksandr Pashkov in St. Petersburg. In 2017 he was admitted to the Academy of Musical Talent in Utrecht where he studied for five years with Marjès Benoist. Since 2022, Philip has been pursuing his undergraduate studies with Frank van der Laar at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Philip is first prize winner of the junior YPF Piano Competition 2019, finalist Steinway Piano Competition 2020, third prize winner in the national final of the Princess Christina Competition 2021 in duet with violinist Kira van der Woerd, Laureate Classic Young Masters 2021 and finalistNLiszt Competition 2022.
All Bach Festival lunch concerts are given by young up-and-coming talent. This concert is a collaboration with Classic Young Masters.
