In Dordrecht, there are all sorts of locations from which you can spend princely time on the water. From canoeing to supping in the Biesbosch and from canal trips to having a drink by the water. And do you have your own boat? Good news: there are several brand-new passenger jetties.
Water season has begun, so we can get back on the water!
A canal cruise through Dordrecht is the ideal way to discover the city at your leisure. For example, with a private canal cruise by DRIJF in the city center and/or in the Biesbosch, or with a separate ticket on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You make a one-hour tour through Dordrecht. In which you are thus delightfully sailed around! That choice is also available at Si Barone: step aboard one of its exclusive boats. Choose a private or shared group tour for a beautiful cruise through the historic center and/or the Biesbosch. The tours can be customized with a snack and drink of your choice. Get ready for a luxurious moment on the water! Still not enough choice? Then there is also Bootje Dordrecht. This company provides boating tours for groups of up to eight people. A particularly ordinary outing for a friendly price! Step aboard for the boarding trip, a private tour or a sailing meeting - yes really: informal consultation during a boat trip! - and sail along through the historic port area or through the natural beauty of the Biesbosch.
Attention boat owners and boat lovers: the city council has made an effort to improve connections on the water, making the city even more accessible for pleasure boats. The Pottenkade has received a mooring jetty, as has the Leuvenhaven, and two new mooring jetties recently opened: on the Mattenkade and the Loswalweg, near restaurant Het Gemaal. At the Mattenkade you now moor your boat at a compact jetty of about twelve meters, good for two boats. Loswalweg, too, is now a place to moor. Later this year there may also be a transient jetty at the Biesbosch Center. This way you can see several sides of Dordrecht by boat! You sail from location to location and moor easily (for up to three hours) with your own or rented sloop! Additional advantage: discover the city at your leisure when you are briefly off board.
Seven days a week at DRIJF, on the Stayokay grounds, rent a canoe or sup with your party! Fun to do with friends or family, or as a company outing or with school. When the weather is nice, canoeing and supping in the Biesbosch is very popular, so if you feel like getting out on the water, check the reservation tool on the website soon. "By canoe or sup you can easily get into all the little creeks and be close to nature," Jacob van Poppel says of the two outdoor activities in the Biesbosch. "Who knows, you might spot a beaver or kingfisher while canoeing or supping! You just might. In any season, the Biesbosch is beautiful when you are on a sup or in a canoe. Now it is not so green yet, so you can see a lot of the Biesbosch. You really imagine yourself in another world for a while. Experience the tranquility and paddle through one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands!"
Now is really the time of year for it: to enjoy a drink by the water on the terrace! After all, what could be nicer than sitting by the water with a tasty spring drink in your hand after a long day of work or on your day off? There are many places in Dordrecht where you can enjoy a drink by the water. For example, you can go to Otto e Mezzo, which has an Italian atmosphere. You can enjoy all kinds of delicious food right on the harbor. Rebel Rebel, a vegan eatery, is also a great place to enjoy a drink by the water. At the picturesque Nieuwe Haven you can completely relax and enjoy your drink while watching everything go by. Prefer to have a drink on the terrace outside the city center? You can do that too, at Stayokay in the Biesbosch! There is a large outdoor terrace overlooking the water, where you can enjoy the green oasis surrounding the property in peace and quiet.
