Discover your own city

You know what it's really the ideal time for right now? Discovering your own city! You will be amazed at what you can actually see and experience in your own living environment. (Re)discover the city with an escape-walk on your smartphone, go for a walk with the Rondje Dordt, book a boarding walk from the VVV or speed through the city on your skates.

There are all kinds of ways to explore your own city.

Walking around Dordt and boarding walks VVV

Fancy a historic city tour? Go for the Rondje Dordt! You follow the signs through the city and pass all the important sights. You can also get a booklet with the route and explanations at the VVV tourist office for € 4. If you have already walked the Rondje Dordt, go for one of the themed routes you can walk, such as the Street Art Tour. Want more guidance? Then choose an entry-level walk from the VVV, on Saturdays, for €7.50. A VVV guide tells you about the city in a personal way. In groups of up to twenty people - or with your own group, because you can book a private guided walk at a reduced rate - you will wander through the inner city and learn all about the history of Dordrecht. Fun for when you have visitors, but certainly also for yourself, because you will undoubtedly see the city with new eyes after a guided walk!

At speed with skates through the city

Strap on your skates and speed through the city! You can skate through the city center, at the skate park or on the two skate routes in Dordrecht. On your skates, you discover the center in a different way than when you just walk through it. You get everywhere nice and fast, which is also a nice bonus, besides the feeling of freedom you experience while skating! Prefer to skate a bit more demarcated? Under the Zwijndrecht bridge, opposite Maasplaza, you'll find one of the largest skate parks in the Netherlands. Ideal for endless practice of tricks, tricks and stunts, even if the weather is a bit less. Fancy skating a little further afield? There are two fun skate routes on the Eiland van Dordrecht: a blue and a red route. The first is ten kilometers long, the second twenty, guided by special skate signs. The blue route goes through the polders in the outskirts of Dordrecht and the red goes over the dikes in the outskirts.
