It is time and weather for it again: good food and drink in autumn!
Come to the Dordrecht Museum on November 14 & 28 and December 12 for fun conversation, art and a cup of coffee. From 11:15 am, coffee will be waiting for you in the wine bar of the museum restaurant, after which you and other Dordrecht residents and a museum staff member will visit the permanent collection or exhibition. This activity was created because the museum noticed that people needed an accessible guided tour as well as some conviviality, says Babette Spiering. "With a regular guided tour you often have a fixed club of people who already know each other, while for Kunst & Koffie you can buy your own ticket. Participants often come alone and get to know new people. This way they are also not dependent on people from their surroundings to go for a museum visit. By interacting with each other and a museum staff member during the tour, people get to know the exhibition through our eyes. We tell about the story of the exhibition and what happens behind the scenes." Book a ticket for this interactive tour with coffee!
Fancy a delicious liqueur? Then opt for the liqueur workshop at Distillery Rutte on (among other things) Nov. 23! You will be welcomed in the cozy tasting room with a refreshing Rutte Dutch Dry Gin & Tonic, winner of multiple awards. During the workshop, you'll learn about Rutte's rich history and discover the process of distilling and extracting. After a tour of the downstairs distillery, the tasting begins, focusing on Rutte's sophisticated liqueurs. The highlight of the workshop? You'll get to work making your own unique liqueur! At the end of the day, you will take home your own bottle to enjoy your creation even longer. Aileen Bogaarts says, "It's a fun, interactive workshop for both men and women. We see many parents with their adult children doing this workshop together. The popularity is increasing, as more and more people are also getting into liquor making at home. Moreover, the diversity of flavors attracts a wide audience."
Join us for wildflower picking and vegan lunch at Rebel Rebel! Together with Roos from Kroos, you will explore the Vlijpark, in a beautiful area, in search of wild edible plants to process together to make a Wild nettle kimchi. The wild picking walk includes Wild, vegan lunch, a drink, a nettle milk imchi making workshop and a weck jar to take home! A fun fall activity, says Danielle Vol. "The great thing about the wild picking walk is that you literally see where things come from. They end up right on your plate, which brings you closer to nature. Since it's the end of fall then, preserving and fermenting your wild picks is fun and important. It is the first time we are having this walk, so super exciting. Luckily Rose and I have a nice click." Danielle notices that people today are more engaged with nature. "They want to know where their food comes from." Info and sign up at reserveren@rebelrebelcafe.nl.
During the Gin & Tonic tasting at Distilleerderij Rutte you will be welcomed in the atmospheric tasting room. Here you will first receive an extensive explanation about the perfect serve of a gin and tonic, after which you will get to work making it yourself. Then the host or hostess will take you through the rich history and production process of gin and gin, followed by a tour of the distillery. After the tour, the highlight begins: the tasting of various gins and genevers. You will have the opportunity to combine these yourself with tonic or other mixed drinks, to discover that both gin and genever can be mixed excellently with various (soft) drinks. During the tasting, you will also learn more about the history and background of Rutte products. "The unique aspect of this tasting is that guests actively participate by choosing which mixer they want to combine the gin or genever with," says Aileen Bogaarts. "This creates a completely new taste experience compared to our other tastings. It is our newest tasting, available for booking since September."
