The summer vacations are behind us and normal life is slowly resuming. But you won't get stuck in a rut, because in September there is plenty to do. Go in search of (antique) treasures during Kunstrondje Dordt or the Dordt Rommelroute and be surprised by the versatility of the longest shopping street in the Netherlands during the Voorstraat Noord Festival.

International Micro Festival
The festival may be called micro, but this puppet theater festival has international allure. This year there are interesting performances again, given by theater groups from home and abroad. There are groups from Israel, the United States, France and Belgium, as well as visitors from Japan and Haiti," says Damiët van Dalsum of the organizing puppet theater Damiët. Visitors are led past the performances via a scenic route through the city center. The nice thing about the festival is that the performances are held at various locations that are appropriate to the play, for example also in private homes. There is a route for families with children and one for adults.' The festival is from Friday, September 9 to Tuesday, September 13.
Unveiling Studio Job in front of the Art Church
On Friday, September 9, at 6 p.m., the festive unveiling will take place of a brand new monument; the new facade of the Art Church. This bronze facade with stained glass was designed and created by Studio Job, one of the most influential design firms today. With this impressive artwork, the facade of the Kunstkerk will have its final appearance and Dordrecht will be enriched with a landmark. This event is also the official opening of the Art Church and the kickoff of the Open Monument Days. It is a cultural milestone with music and a celebration for the city.
Dordt Rommelroute Sunday 18 September
It started as a kind of big neighborhood party, but now the Dordt Rommelroute has grown into a flea market where people from all over the Netherlands come. Last time there was even a coach from Amsterdam to our Rommelroute', says Bianca Drexhage who, together with her neighbor Marissa Dornscheidt, took the initiative for the Rommelroute through the center of Dordrecht. There are about 250 addresses participating, which is huge! The idea came four years ago because we wanted to bring the people living in the city center a little more in contact with each other. That has turned out to be a great success.' Downtown residents will be in front of their homes with their used treasures starting at 9:30 am. See you then!
