Saturday morning
Start the day with a delicious breakfast at Stadshotel Steegoversloot. After a good breakfast and delicious coffee, you are ready for the day. On to the Huis van Gijn! Here time has stood still for over a century. The museum, as the name suggests, is the former home of Dordrecht collector Simon van Gijn. Imagine yourself back in time in this beautiful building. Extra fun: the 'house sounds' project: by means of a sound installation and special walking route, the sounds of the house return to the house for a while. This makes the experience even more special!
Saturday afternoon
After a morning at the museum, it is first time for a nice lunch at NO. 38 City Bakery Café. An ideal place to kick back and enjoy fresh sourdough bread sandwiches. In addition to freshly ground Spanish coffee, healthy juices and delicious teas are also available.
Time to head into town! Discover unique boutiques and cozy art galleries. There's plenty for interior design too. Step inside Bluebirds in the Backyard, Jets Favs and No. 28. With the cutest new finds with you, grab a cup of coffee and some goodies at the Stadsbranderij.
Saturday night
Saturday evening enjoy a delicious dinner at Bistro la Bohème. Bistro La Bohème's cuisine is characterized by classic and modern dishes with an excellent balance of both fish and meat dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes. Thus, there is something tasty for everyone on the menu. After dinner it's time for culture and walk over to Kunstmin for a great performance. After the performance have a drink at the Warehouse and then head back to Stadshotel Steegoversloot.
Sunday Morning
Sunday morning you walk to VVV Dordrecht, where you have rented bicycles. You set out for National Park de Biesbosch and marvel at the beautiful autumn colors. Nature varies from forest to meadows to ponds. You do not follow a route but your feeling and you will find the most beautiful places. You conclude at the Biesboschcentrum Dordrecht and return to the city center.
Sunday afternoon: Kunstrondje Dordt
If you are in Dordrecht on the 1st Sunday of the month, walk the Kunstrondje Dordt. This is a walk along galleries, art, antique and curio stores, antiquarian bookshops and museums. All participants and a map can be found here, but the free brochure is also available at the stores themselves and the VVV tourist information office.
After a wonderful autumnal weekend in Dordrecht, it is time to return home with a treasure chest full of memories.
