Running Santa through the city
On Friday, December 15, lots of people in Santa Claus costumes will again make a pleasant run through the historic center of Dordrecht during the annual Santa Run. This year it promises to be another cozy edition. The start is on the Stadhuisplein at 18:30 with merry Christmas music and a warm-up. The starting gun will sound at 19:00 after which hundreds of Santa Clauses will run the course of almost 3 kilometers.
Participation is suitable for everyone and costs €7.50 per person. This includes a Santa suit and musical entertainment. By participating you support this year's charity: Stardo and Polar Bears; making rowing and ice hockey possible for athletes with disabilities!
Enjoyment during Dordt December Days
It will be enjoyable during the Dordt December Days, from December 15 to 31 in the historic center! Not only by the atmospheric (shopping) streets with beautiful lighting, but also by all kinds of winter activities during the Dordtse Decemberdagen. The inner city is the place to be this festive month. Besides the traditional Sing-a-long on Friday, December 15 and Saturday, December 16 at 8 p.m. , there are some new items on the December agenda this year. Near the area between the Grote Kerk and City Hall, there will be an intimate December Market on December 16 and 17. It will be an intimate, cozy market with Christmas houses and some food trucks with all kinds of goodies. The garden of the Grote Kerk will also be cozy. On the Winter Square from December 26 to 30 there will be chalets in which Dordrecht (catering) entrepreneurs show what they have to offer. It is really worth to come several times, no evening is the same during the Dordtse Decemberdagen!
True Dordrecht circus: winter circus Royal
The Dordrecht Winter Circus Royal is back with a spectacular program. Flashy roller-skating acrobatics, hilarious clowns and a contortionist. The circus tent is set up on the event grounds near the traffic circle on the Avenue of Europe. A spectacular swing trapeze shines high above the arena, a group of balance artists will bring a human pyramid to the high wire and the raging engines of the Victorr Robayo Troupe will provide an immense spectacle in "The Globe of Death.
