Stadsbrouwerij Dordrecht is not just any brewery. In this professional microbrewery, beer is brewed in a very traditional way by volunteers and trainees, mainly from the MBO. The city brewery is an educational training company and is proud of the apprenticeships and the guidance it offers to students.
In Stadsbrouwerij Dordrecht, every beer is brewed with special attention. We brew four types of Schapenkopje: Blond, Amber, Double and Triepel. Our beer is for sale in various off-licences and supermarkets and in several pubs and restaurants in Dordrecht and the region.
De brouwerij is elke zaterdag geopend voor een rondleiding met proeverij (om 15.00 uur). Kosten € 12,50 p.p. Vooraf aanmelden is niet noodzakelijk maar wel aanbevolen in verband met de beperkte ruimte. Voor groepen van 10 personen of meer is het ook mogelijk op een andere dag en/of tijd een rondleiding te krijgen. Aanvragen hiervoor via email: rondleidingen@stadsbrouwerijdordrecht.nl.
Monument de Stadsbrouwerij/Het Schapenkopje
In 1968, the oldest brewery in the Netherlands, the Dordt brewery 'De Sleutel', came to an end. Beer was brewed here from the beginning of the 16th century on a site that stretched from the Groenmarkt (behind the renaissance building De Sleutel) to the Varkenmarkt (entrance gate with keys). A large part of the buildings in the inner area were demolished, but the building that was originally the malt house and was later used as a lagering cellar was preserved. During the restoration, the old outer façade with arched window openings was restored. On the upper floors there are flats, and downstairs there is the City Brewery. Today, it houses the Dordrecht city brewery's educational establishment. The traditionally brewed light beer that won master brewer Marres - one of the founders - the title of Dutch Champion Brewer, is now marketed by the Stadsbrouwerij under the Dordrecht name 'Schapenkopje Amber'.
