In the middle of the vegetable garden, housed in the former pump building, is Villa Augustus' restaurant. Open all day, seven days a week, with room for 200 guests. The restaurant is the ideal of gardener and cook: from early spring to deep winter, the garden is where the Dutch season is visible and harvestable. Inspiring for both. All vegetables, fruits and herbs go to the cooks immediately after harvest. From the open kitchen, the heart of the restaurant, they prepare that as delicious (and beautiful) as possible.
The menu features a limited number of dishes, some of which change every two months. We work as much as possible with organic or otherwise well-produced products. Preferably from the immediate area, but fine ingredients from elsewhere in Europe are also possible.
Boat tours
Villa Augustus has two tour boats moored in the Wantij behind the hotel. Welcome aboard!
On a one-hour trip, the skipper sails past the historic center of Dordrecht: through Europe's busiest river junction and the Groothoofd, immortalized by countless masters, past centuries-old houses that stand with their feet in the water and where the waves lapping against the windows...
A two-hour (or longer) round trip takes you to the Dutch Biesbosch; the green maze of willows and creeks, the domain of beavers, sea and osprey and, of course, Haas!
