The Augustijnenhof published the Canon of Dordrecht in 2020. In this volume (or in the relevant region-canon on the website of the Canon of the Netherlands) the thousand-year history of our city is told in fifty surprising windows.
House of the canons
After the extremely well-received Canon of Dordrecht, the Canon of the Zwijndrechtse Waard and the Canon of the Alblasserwaard appeared later. The Augustijnenhof can therefore rightfully call itself the 'house of canons'. And with the Hof van Nederland canon museum located opposite the building, the entire Hof is dedicated to the Canon of the Netherlands.
Thematic exhibition
From now on, you can visit an exhibition in the upper room of the HIP Augustijnenhof, located at Hof 15 in Dordrecht, which focuses on the windows of the Canon of Dordrecht. With ever-changing themes from Dordrecht's history, you will travel through the centuries. From one window to the next. From the development of the city in the 16th and 17th centuries, via the demolition of the city walls and gates two hundred years later, to the major urban redevelopment that took place in the 20th century. An era that still raises the blood pressure of boomers when they talk about their beloved and razed post office on the Bagijnhof. You will also be introduced to vagrant and vagabond Kees Spijkervet, who is representative of the poverty that the city has known to a large extent.The residents of the old harbor area and the new residents of Dordrecht's youngest district Stadswerven will be amazed at the similarity portrayed in the exhibition between their neighborhoods, which differ in age by as much as 450 years.

It is an exhibition to which you can feel free to return after some time because different aspects of "Thousand Years of Dordt" will be on display again and again. The Augustijnenhof is open Tuesday through Friday and every first Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
