With his quintet, Guido Nijs brings a subtle mix of contemporary jazz and straight ahead. Together, Simone van der Weerden (bandoneon) and Alvaro Rovira Ruiz (8-string guitar) form a unique duo, with a repertoire focused on Argentine music. In addition to urban tangos and milongas, they also perform the multifaceted Argentine folklore. The folkloric styles are inspired by dances from different provinces, each steeped in the country's diverse and vast nature.
Isaura & Paultje | SO 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Since 2024, Isaura Laffeber (violin) and Paultje Klerx (viola) have been a close and expressive duo. Their sparkling interplay and love of chamber music bring to life classics by Mozart, Schubert and Halvorsen, among others. Expect an atmospheric journey full of musical connection, enthusiasm and surprises.
Susan Jane Rose | SO 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
With her whispering voice and candid songs, Susan Jane Rose knows how to move. An intimate collaboration with guitarist Will Sophie creates an enchanting interplay full of warmth, space and playfulness. Their music is soft and powerful at the same time, a musical journey that you not only hear, but more importantly experience.
Artvark Saxophone Quartet | SO 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Artvark is a saxophone quartet that is anything but still. No chairs, no standards, but four saxophones in motion, in a dance of sound, improvisation and whimsy. They explore the edges of classical and jazz with works by Sweelinck, Andriessen, Escher and their own compositions. Expect a surprising mix of age-old melodies and raw grooves, brought with guts.
Eric van Dijsseldonk | SO 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Singer-songwriter and guitarist Eric van Dijsseldonk performs sparkling pop songs full of roots, soul and Beatles-like melodies. His album Half-Time showcases a versatile songwriter, from intimate ballads to solid guitar pop with lyrics about love, life and even Stephen Hawking. Live, he plays his own work and tributes to his heroes, together with top musicians Stefan Wolfs and Erik Harbers.
On Saturday there is a little extra attention for the organs in Dordrecht. Rightly so, because it is National Organ Day again. Since 2002, organized simultaneously with the Open Monument Days.
Antonius Church: On Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., ladies choir Laudate Dominum will give a short concert, together with the Remonstrant Cantorij led by Irene van Geel and with organ accompaniment by Margriet den Hartog. Featuring works by the recently deceased Dordrecht composer Otto Deden (1925-2025).
Augustijnenkerk: Op zaterdag om 14.00 uur ben je van harte welkom bij een inloopconcert op het orgel. Het optreden wordt verzorgd door de getalenteerde organisten Martin Mans en Martin Zonneberg.
Christelijk Gereformeerde kerk: Op zaterdag vinden er op vijf momenten een orgelbespeling plaats. Kom hier om 10.45, 12.00, 13.30, 14.30 en 15.15 uur genieten van een concert.
Grote Kerk: On Saturday between 10:30 and 14:00 organ lovers can play the organs themselves (after registering via corardesch.nl). At 3:30 p.m. there is a children's performance with carillonneur Boudewijn Zwart and organist Cor Ardesch.
Remonstrant Church:
On Saturday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m., De Witt Academy, led by Yvonne Peters, will give a concert as part of "Honoring Otto Deden," featuring Sylvia Peters (mezzo-soprano), Yvonne Peters (flute) and Margriet den Hartog (organ and harpsichord).
On Sunday, September 14, at noon, the cantorry of the Remonstrant Church and ladies' choir Laudate Dominum will sing music by Mendelssohn, Otto Deden and Taizé, among others.
Wilhelminakerk: The music program starts at noon and then repeats every hour at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.. The day will conclude festively with a vesper at 4:30 p.m.
