About every FIRST FRIDAY of the month Filmtheater De Witt screens an English language film or a film with English subtitles. With pleasure we present this to our international fellow-citizens, but Dutchies are welcome too. Bring your friends!!
On the 7th of November it’s a feel good comedy based on a unbelievable real story.
When English teacher Michell (Steve Coogan) starts working at a posh private school in Argentina in 1976, he encounters a divided country and a group of unruly students. During a vacation, he finds a penguin on an oil-covered beach. He reluctantly rescues the animal from the oil and takes it under his wing. This forges a special bond between man and animal, one that profoundly changes his perspective on life (and himself).
Director Peter Cattaneo achieved success over 25 years ago with his feel-good comedy The Full Monty. Now he adapts the true life story of Tom Mitchell into a warm, feel-good film.
